Life is crazy, heard that before? It doesn't ever seem to slow down, how about that one, heard that before? Summer is almost in full swing around here. I just can't believe it. There are about 8 days of school left and I can tell you I am not ready for my big man to be home full time. Last year I had activities planned, places to visit mapped out, and fun things to do ready at a minutes notice. This year, I have nothing. To be totally honest, I am totally ok with that. We are embarking on a time of the year that we have little time left to squeeze things into. Between baseball games, tournaments, weddings, vacation, and end of school fun, we are officially on a hampster wheel. I keep saying if we can get through this week, the rest of the summer is lazy. Ok I lied, don't tell the family.
Here are some pictures from this weekend. We visited my parents and enjoyed some wonderful outside time livin' it up on the farm.
I threw on my sons new shoes and he decided to throw on mine...yep high heeled cowboy boots. It was funny.
Hey Mom, whats this?
Oh just a bull snake shedding....complete...kind of cool....Hey Meagan, did you find it yet?! You know where I really wanted to put it? In your Vera Bradley lunch sack. Oh how I have laughed thinking of you opening it and sticking your hand in, only to find a snake skin!!
Bluebird eggs
Yummy peas
This is truely heaven....wild strawberries. There is nothing like these little bites of strawberry goodness.
My lovely cousin graduated from good ole' KState so we of course had to celebrate. It was a good time seeing lots of family and enjoying some yummy cake.
Papaw was causing all sorts of trouble with this little one
I love my hubby when it comes to Mothers Day. He knows how to do it right. So a huge thanks for my husband and kids for treating me to the Arboretum and lunch at Wil Jenny's.
Ugh!!
Ella's going through a bit of a scared to death of bugs phase....she was mortified of all of the bees that were having breakfast this morning. We made it through the Arboretum....barely!
Checking out the Koi
Look at her smile!!
Awwww
The Arboretum is probably my favorite place around here. It is small enough to take all the kids and not have to lug out the wagon. But it is big enough to feel like you aren't in someone's back yard. It had tremendously gorgeous flowers and views. I could have sat there all day and read. At one point I told Ryan, when I die you can donate a tree or bench here...this is what my Heaven looks like. There is something magical and beautiful about seeing all the God has created for us. But sharing it with my kids and opening their eyes to the fact that nature is comforting and relaxing, is the best gift I got today. I will for sure be back throughout the summer to find my inner peace that seems to come from places like these.
My favorite image from our trip this morning:
This spider was getting her work done this morning. Ella and I watched her spin three rings around her web. I explained to Ella that we are all like that little spider. We are all so delicate and we all spin beautiful webs.
I hope everyone has a great week!!
