I stole this idea for the kids this summer. They're going to take their own paper and crayons to the gardens to get inspiration for their artwork!
Chase growing up
Oh how I wish that time would stop but man oh man I do love seeing him grow up. And although he is testing every bit of patience I have, most days, I still just love him to pieces. There is a great song on the country stations right now, He's Mine by Rodney Atkins, that just is exactly how I feel about my boy. We celebrated his promotion to 6th grade. It was a great night! The teachers put together a great little ceremony with lots of laughs! There is nothing better than seeing and hearing that your child's teacher just adored your child, and that goes for each and every one. There were lots of tears but I know that life is going to get better.
A new watch to help him be a little more responsible
Nanie couldn't resist being here for this big night
This rock was what the 5th graders raised money for to give as their legacy gift
Leaving his handprint on the walls of the school forever
Grandma and Grandpa couldn't resist either, I know they enjoyed seeing Chase graduate
My last favorite thing is my momma. She has always shown up for anything that deals with our kiddos. She comes running when we need a sitter and knows when I need a break from my kids. I look forward to her meals every time I go home and enjoy her company when she is visiting us. I love the way she loves our kiddos but doesn't think twice to jump all over them for misbehaving. It takes a village to raise a child, and grandparents are FOR SURE part of that village. I know you are asking why this right now....Mothers Day was two weekends ago. I took this picture tonight:
and it reminded me that I am so extremely lucky to have my mom in my life so close. And so lucky that she wants to be a part of our lives. Then I took this picture
and know that we, as a family, have a very special thing going. My grandma reading to my girls, I mean really could it get any better :).
And although I won't quit worrying about how our kids will grow up safely and make smart decisions, looking at these pictures makes me realize that we got a good thing going :).
Love is all you need.
