We had a great time in St. Louis. We really didn't have too terribly long there but tried to squeeze all we could in. We had some awesome food and enjoyed taking our time at each restaurant, seeing as no kids were rushing us out the door :).
St. Louis has some amazing architecture in not only the churches
but in our hotel. We stayed at Union Station. It was amazing and breathtaking all at once. Architecture really does make me want to take tons of pics!!
These lovely ladies were on the very top of the domed ceiling. It was all so lovely but I know that not everyone likes pictures of buildings....so how about butterflies.
St. Louis is home to the beautiful Missouri Botanical Gardens. This is definitely something we will be going back to see. We decided to visit the Butterfly House because it would be a fairly quick but beautiful thing to see. We had been to something similar in Branson and couldn't wait. It was amazing. And I have to admit, 10 times better than the one in Branson.
Between the flowers
and the butterflies
It was hard to not be in awe of beauty here on Earth
Our main reason for going to St. Louis was for a beautiful wedding that was taking place. Ryan's cousin, Blake and his beautiful bride Suzie tied the knot at Forest Park. It was a gorgeous place, again, so many plants you just couldn't help but be in awe.
Then we partied the night away with family. We had a great time!
Our table entertainment :) This kiddo made me laugh and reminded me that even when they grow up, we, I mean they, are still kids at heart. Thanks for the Tootsie Rolls, Andrew!!
The flower girl and one of the bridesmaids looking at the bride and groom taking pictures on the golf course. So adorable!!
Then this guy showed up, Fanbird, and the party started. There was all sorts of dancing, including yours truely on just about every song. I love dancing. Even if I look like a fool.
I thought this was a cool pic. I, of course, didn't do this on purpose but tried to get a picture of my brother in law doing his best to dance like Michael Jackson. He was moving so much the camera only caught glimpses of him, you can't hardly even make out his entire body.
We had a great time and can't wait to go back. For longer, of course. But I will say I won't miss one thing. Bridges. Some of you may know I hate bridges. Not so much that I won't go over them, just hate them. We had to go over this (insert cuss word of your choice here) one about 20 times. Ok so maybe it was only 4 times, but 4 too many!!
See, I was so scared that my soul took the picture of us actually crossing the bridge.
Coming home after a weekend away is always lovely. Unless your sick and really just want to go to bed. So what better way to let mom (and dad) get a little rest but to throw out the slip and slide!!
Yep they had fun and we made the grocery list for the week. I would say we rested but lets be honest, who rests?! Anywho, that was our weekend in as little of pictures as I could squeeze on here. We had a great time, glad to be home, and ready for summer to start and officially kick this cold I have (and Kyndall and probably Ryan as well) to the CURB!!
My favorite pic of the weekend: I have two.....
and this one
because today was a day to remember those who served our country and who continue to serve. There isn't a moment that goes by that I don't think about how awesome freedom really is. Especially while I am driving through this great land of ours. There are no words to describe the gratitude, no words at all. Just a deep love for those that lay down their lives for our freedom. God Bless America. Amen.
