Today we hit the dirt road in search of our favorite blueberry patch!!
We invited our neighbors along so the girls could have some fun together without brothers getting too involved :).
With buckets ready we set off for Patch #4 and got to work.
Yea, thanks Chase for the smile!!
The girls knew exactly what to do
Mom, there was a bug this big in my face....what should I do?
I love watching this girl in action with friends. Although there are times that we are still learning about sharing and what it means to be a friend, she is so awesome. There were a couple times that she had the right to turn around and cry or at least be upset with comments that were made about how many berries she didn't have in her bucket. But she didn't. She kept right on picking and didn't let it bother her.
I only heard one " I hold you now" so it was a good time all around.
Afterwards, I jumped into the blueberry business and bought a plant. We have bought blueberry bushes before but they were tiny. I bought a 3 year old plant (for only $17) that is nice and tall already. I learned alot from one of the nice ladies working out there. And since we will be back to pick some more in a couple weeks, I will be buying a second plant since you need two in order to get any pollination done. I am excited and only have to wait two years before getting some fruit.
We all had a great time and enjoyed a yummy blueberry muffin on the way home. It was a good day...tomorrow we are putting those berries to use. The kids and I are all making mini blueberry pies. YUMMO!! I'm off to get something done around the house....does a nap count as housework?
