Cooking has always been a true work of art for me and it is something I cherish most about being a wife and a mom. Homecooking is something that I do to show my family or my guests my true feelings for them, LOVE!! And recently this love has turned to BBQ. Living in KC, I am surrounded by the best of the best. I have started with ribs, since they seem a little easier than brisket or pulled pork. I have made them about 5 times over this summer and every time I make them I just get better!! Last night was by far and hands down the best ribs I have ever made, complete with burnt ends that were heavenly!!I feel that I have completed the ribs portion of my cooking lesson and now it is on to brisket. Seeing as this is probably the hardest bbq meat to cook and get right, it is going to take me a while. But the best part about learning how to cook these fabulous meats, is all the taste testing along the way. So here is a look at my ribs from last night before they took a bath in apple juice.

I would have taken a picture when they came off the grill but everyone was standing around me like wolves so I had to get them off and throw them to the pack.
And since I had the camera out I took some pics of my beautiful lemon bundt cake. I am becoming quite fond of taking pictures of food. It reminds me that this is a work of LOVE!

And for this week it is all about baking some yummy breads for all of our parents that we will see over the long weekend!! Mmmm dilly bread, onion cheese bread, and a yummy almond twist breakfast ring.
