Spring is officially here

As I sit here the thunderstorms are rolling in, the house is somewhat quiet, and I am in heaven. We had a great spring break and today marks the end of our little break from school, practices, and everything else that keeps us running around like chickens with our heads cut off. We made a quick trip to Texas to see a great friend of mine and her kiddos, plus allow Chase to have some time with his sick grandma. It was a quick trip but we made the best of it and enjoyed all the time we could. Here are some pics - warning I did try to pick the best but there are quite a few :)

We had some wonderful park play time with Hailey and her kiddos. It was so nice to see her whole family. I have always felt like a part of her family and it is so nice that no matter how long in between visits, everything just falls back into place. I am so glad that our kids will get to play together for the rest of their lives, even if it is once every two or three years!

We also drove out to where I went to high school. Man, has it ever changed and grown.

On our way home we visited Palo Dura Canyon. It was breathtaking and makes those of us that haven't seen the Grand Canyon wonder just how breathtaking that place really is.

Then we made a pit stop in OKC to visit their beautiful zoo. We were not disappointed and I have to give this zoo a huge thumbs up. It had so many animals out and totally visable. It had a great kids area to play in and lots of opportunities to touch and sometimes feed the animals.

Kids playing in the play place in the river bed. So much fun!

The girls LOVED the goats and were crying as we told them we needed to go.

I mean does it get much cuter!!

But the best part of this zoo was the Lorikeets. You were able to buy nectar and go inside their home and feed them. It was so much fun!!

I have never seen him like this. He was a natural and that smile was just a gorgeous sight for these parents :) We have since talked about birds daily and he has visited several in the pet stores. We are hoping to get one soon seeing as he just adores them.
