We will be enjoying this pool for the rest of the summer, I can tell. I am not complaining. This allows me time to garden and read some more books.
Speaking of gardening, I have a sad but funny story. I have never grown cantaloupe but decided that this year I was going to try it. It is a very aggresive vine and it taking over all of my garden. I cut it back daily to ensure my tomatoes grow as well. The cantaloupes that are on the vine are huge. Finally curiousity got the best of me. Surely it is ready, famous last words of a gardner. Well, I cut this one off of the vine and ran inside to cut it open. Needless to say we didn't eat cantaloupe for dinner. It was so green. I almost cried. All that time it worked and I watered only to have my inexperience as a gardner get the best of me. Oh well the other 4 melons that are still on there will be on there for a long time :)
Our 4th was quick, as I am sure most peoples was since it fell on Wednesday this year. We both have fond memories of the small town carnival and fireworks. And who could forget about a parade, no 4th of July is complete without one! So we headed back for all those fun times and most importantly to spend time with family because really that is what holidays are all about. The girls loved the carnival! We had a great time with Auntie Meagan and we officially broke the girls into the Tilt a Whirl. Ella was in love but Kyndall wasn't so sure.
Its very hard to take a pic while the ride is going! Sorry Lala for cutting your head off.
We had so much fun! I can't wait to do this again next year. We are already starting a "carnival" savings envelope....you knew that going to the carnival was expensive? Oh well, these are the times....
We got to visit Grandpa Melvin and Grandma Roma as well. It was so nice to spend some time with them.
For the rest of the 4th, we enjoyed my side of the family in that small town where I was born. It is so nostalgic going back on this holiday. So many good memories that I hope
