Mothers Day

This Mothers Day was so fantastic and really made me realize that I truely have the worlds best husband who in turn make my kids appreciative of all the I do. Not to say that we don't all do things but as we mom's know, we keep the ship afloat! Ryan took all of us to Powell Gardens in MO. This place has to be the closet thing to Heaven that I have ever seen, minus anywhere tropical! It is a huge garden sanctuary. We walked for hours through beautiful shade gardens and lake front gardens and along forest trails with hidden streams and then onto the veggie gardens. There were more strawberry plants here than I have ever seen as well as any fruit tree you could imagine. Being it is still early in the spring, lettuce and kale were about the only thing growing. But I can't imagine what that place looks like when the summer comes. It was so fun and I just loved being outside amongst nature with the loves of my life! What a great way to start my Mothers Day weekend.

I got to go to Granite City for brunch and after waiting 2 hours realized that the breakfast/brunches we have at home are comparible to theirs. It was nice however to not have to clean up or cook! My kiddos made me a precious book out of the pictures above and I will be framing it to put up on our bedroom wall.

One of the best gifts of all, other than my kids, was what Chase explained to me as I opened my Pandora box. The kids and Ryan got me a new charm for my bracelet, a bible with a cross on it. Ryan explained that the kids got to chose which one. Chase explained that he chose the bible because he knew that I loved Jesus and that Jesus loved me back. Now I don't care where you are in your faith journey or even if you are on one, that was the best thing my son could have said to me. With all those moments when I question if my faith (lacking as it is) is strong enough to show my kids and my husband that Jesus is our way and that ultimately Jesus taught us that love is all that matters. To hear Chase explain this to me was priceless! Love at its finest!

Of course the bestest gift of all was the love that my family showed me last weekend, and for the most part every day. I have the best kids in this world. Even when they mess up or cry for 8 hours straight or won't be quiet while I am trying to have an adult conversation with my hubby, they have got to be the best kids in the world. So I want to say a huge THANK YOU GOD for making me their mommy! I don't know why you chose these angels to be mine while we are here on Earth but I am SOOOOOO glad you did. I am so blessed and even if I don't show it all the time, I am so appreciative.
