Oh what a week

Oh what a week this has been and was last week. I had my first (and almost last) craft show. This was the biggest one I have done and I was very nervous, but excited to sell my pretty things. Both days were packed with people but no one wanted to buy. I am not sure what people do when they decide to come to craft shows. I think they just come to steal ideas with no intent to buy. I heard a lot of compliments, which was so nice, but no one had babies or girls that fit into any of my clothes. It was a disheartening and after barely making enough to cover booth rental, I cancelled my next one. It just isn't worth it especially when I heard (and later saw on dvd) Chase's game. I know I am his mom but I have to say he is such a great football player. It is just so easy to him and he gives so much of himself, it shows every play. It is also wearing him out quite a bit so life around the house has calmed down a few notches. Here are just some of the highlights from his game. He ran in a touchdown, about 90 yards out. He made almost 7 tackles and ran in another touchdown later. He made several catches and blocked fabulously!! I am so proud of my little football man. Sorry no pics, daddy had the camera :).

Ella and I baked yesterday to celebrate fall's arrival with chilly mornings and cool afternoons. I was hoping these pumpkin chocolate chip muffins would also help Kyndall and I to feel better. We have some nasty cough with no other symptoms, it stinks!

I also made myself a new fall purse. I needed to exert my creativity because in some way I feel I failed at making clothes. Yes, I know I didn't but you can't help but feel that way. So here is my latest purse. I have to say, it's pretty cute.
Photobucket
And I will leave you with another sweet note from Chase. We started a journal with him. It allows us to praise him in a private way and in a way that he can go back and read over and over when maybe he feels sad. Here is a note we had laying on our bed one night. It was so unexpected and so beautiful.

I just love my little munchkins! They are all so unique and fabulous in their own ways!!

Blog, oh how I have missed thee!!

Well I am officially a technology addict. We had to go almost a week and a half with no computer or internet and I went CrAZy!! No blogs to read and no blogs to share, no emails to read...well maybe I could still get those on my phone but oh blog how I have missed thee!!
So much has happened since we last talked...ok maybe not but there were two major events, one happy and one sad. So lets start with happy:
CHASE MADE THE GAME WINNING TOUCHDOWN AT HIS GAME LAST WEEKEND!!! We were so proud of him. He ran it in with no one even close. His coaches were so excited but the excitement King was Ryan. He was beside himself with this touchdown. He ran down the sidelines and screamed the whole time. It was so great to watch. And although I think I am getting good at taking photos with my new camera, not so fast at taking video. So here are the pics I could snap:

Coach giving him some much needed praise.

It was so incrediably hot that afternoon, I am surprised none of the boys passed out. I can't even begin to tell you all how proud I was of him doing this!!

And on a sad note, dance class is no more. As some may know we made it through the first dance class last week sitting on the chair in the corner crying. It was heart wrenching. I couldn't / didn't want to go in to console, I wanted her so badly to enjoy it because I know she would have. Here are some pics from her first day at dance:

After Dance - check out the red splotches. Poor dancer girl.

So this week's class snuck up on us BUT she was so excited when I told her we were going back. Oh good sign #1. She wanted to put on her dance outfit as soon as I told her. Oh good sign #2. There were no tears and no mention of crying or being scared. Ahhh good sign #3. As soon as we saw the classroom with all the little dancers, the tears started to flow. OH NO. Some of you may know that as soon as the tears start, there is no turning back. She is on high cry alert and she can't be stopped. I know, weird huh, not sure where it came from. Oh well, this crying continued and no matter what approach I took (and I took them ALL!) it didn't matter. So I left, walked out the door, with her crying. Watched her from the outer room, cry and cry and cry. Watched her little body lean over and cry even harder. Oh this momma was so sad for my little girl. But then our lovely teacher walked over, grabbed her little hand, and walked her to the door. Then she opened the door and said she can't come back. Yep, can't come back, not ready, maybe she needs gymnastics where you can stay with her, surely we can get you a refund for this class, she might grow out of it, has she been to preschool yet? Such a sad day around here and although Ella got her wish and we aren't going back, I am a little upset. I really want her to be independent and I thought she was, not just here at home. But today it was all to clear, she isn't. So it is off to try gymnastics and maybe preschool to get her more able to make friends. Oh well, life goes on right. Maybe dance just isnt for her.
Other than those two events, life has been pretty much a hectic routine of chaos. Between practices and games and craft shows starting, life is pretty crazy right now. I am so looking forward to October where there are still practices and games but pumpkin patches and apple orchards also await our arrival.
So glad to be back.

New Project

Lately making dresses and burp cloths and bibs has gotten a little redundent in the sewing room. I am in desperate need for something new and challenging, so how about purses. So I set out to make a new purse. I tried a few on my own which didn't turn out to well so I went ahead a bought a cute little pattern from Aivilo Charlotte on etsy (www.aivilocharlotte.etsy.com). I set out to make Ella a new purse to match the one I would carry. It took no time at all and I was soon working on my new purse. I added a few more details to my purse but felt it is one of my best projects!!So Cute!

Here are both of the purses together.

Here are the flowers that I added

I just LoVe making things that are pretty and stylish! I also love that my little princess in so in love with her purse as well. She was so excited to show daddy what she had got.

Football and Creativity

Last night we sat on the deck and just let the smell of fall, fall on us. It was chilly and smelled of chimeneas with their burning wood. It was so fabulous and a great way to end a very hectic day. Chase had his first football game and boy was it fun! This was what we had all been waiting for! It was complete with cheerleaders
Photobucket
and refs that made bad calls and teammates getting hurt. And although it was nothing serious, we all held our breaths as we waited to see if one of our own would be ok.
Photobucket
This game was against the best team in our division so we knew going into it, it was going to be rough. We learned some things and had some moments where I'm sure coach was a little unsure if we actually had practiced. But overall the boys did good and now we know what we need to do to get better.

I'm sure Coach wishes he had their attention as much as the cheerleaders do. :)

And on to Sunday where the creative Gods shown down on our house. I have to give a huge THANK YOU to my lovely husband who was in charge of the kiddos while I created what seemed like outfit after outfit today. And although there were times I wanted to stop and play, I stayed behind the machine and sewed. After all, craft shows are SNEAKING up on me quickly! Here are some of my goodies:

There is still some left to do but it will have to wait until this week. Our week is going to be an easy one. A few playdates, a few practices, and company coming this weekend. I think there is a zoo calling our name as well.
Oh and an announcement that makes my heart happy. Our precious Mister O will be returning starting in October until his beautiful momma has his new baby sister in December.
Photobucket
As you can imagine, Miss Ella is just beside herself. She just can't wait to have him back. I am also excited to be able to take him on adventures with us and provide his momma (and daddy) some peaceful feelings while he is in our care. There are such beautiful people in my life and I am so blessed to be able to help them at times when they need it most!
Happy Fall Ya'll!!

Unbalanced

I wish I could say that balance was a word that easily flowed from our every day life, but it isn't. Someday I am hoping to have some sort of "balance" when it comes to being a mom, crafter, baker, wife, and a whole lot of other titles I carry. But for right now, I am not balanced. And to go further, neither is our house and it's members. I am quickly discovering that trying to do craft shows again this year is becoming more of a challenge than I had anticipated. Yesterday it became painfully clear that all my work has unbalanced my girls. The house was filled with more tears and more screaming yesterday than I have ever heard (and that includes both coming from me). I took a step back and realized that I had/have been working every day this week, non stop. And although it allows me to sleep better at night knowing that I got some sewing done, my girls were needing their mom back. So we baked,

chocolate heaven (or so I was hoping. Note to self: Don't buy store brand cake mixes. They NEVER turn out good)

and I slept with Miss Kyndall on my chest since she woke up early. I miss this part of her so much. Feelings her little body just relax as we rock together and feel her breathing just fall into a sleep pattern is just beautiful. And there it was balance, once again in our house. And although I have been working today, I have stopped to dance the Hokey Pokey and to love on my little teething princess and run around the house chasing after both of them. Take a peek at one of the outfits I made today. Can you say super cute!!
Photobucket
I am glad we are all balanced and ready for this most spectacular weekend. My little baby boy is playing in his first tackle football game this weekend. I know it doesn't seem like a big deal but it so is to me. He is growing up so fast and I couldn't be more proud of what he is becoming, even the awnry-ness! I just can't wait!! Happy Friday everyone!!

Hello Fall

Oh how I love fall! The smell of wet grass every morning and the slight chill in the air every night at football practice, is nothing sort of magical. Speaking of football, Chase had his last scrimmage, which turned out to be like a real game. Complete with refs and screaming yelling parents. Here are just a few pictures from last night.
Photobucket
Ok so this next picture shows how much these boys love football. Check out our littlest player, crouched down in front of the other teams massive player (this is that 250 pound kid from a few weeks ago). Our #42 worked his butt off last night. He was the most aggressive player that we have seen so far and with him being so little he uses that to his advantage. It was so fun watching him dominate the other team and making the other coaches so fuming mad that this little boy was getting through every time.
Photobucket
Chase had a decent game. We all knew he would have trouble with tackling, he is just too concerned with who he is hitting. Last night this was very evident so we have to somehow toughen him up on the field. But I know he will get there.
As for the rest of us, we are trying to catch up from our weekend away. We had a great time with all of our families but again came to the conclusion that trying to visit all at one time is just not fair to anyone. So be ready family, when we come next time we are with you the entire weekend :). We took some pictures at my parents house and they are going to make great Christmas pictures!! But here are a few that aren't in the present stack.

Chase's first game is this Saturday so I will be blogging again this weekend. We were also hoping to get to a apple orchard so that maybe this year we can actually PICK an apple. I hope everyone has a fabulous rest of this short week. I leave you with a picture of the evening sky last night. These are some of my most favorite scenes in the sky. Reminds me that I have so much to be thankful for, it looks like God pouring his love out over his children. Love it!

Tea Party

Ella was invited to her first "Tutu Tea Party" this past week and she could not have been more excited. I made the mistake of telling her about it on Monday(it was on Wednesday) which meant we had two whole days of switching outfits and switiching shoes and lots of "mom are they ready now?". Although it got a little taxing on Wednesday morning, we finally arrived at our Tutu Tea Party.

The girls enjoyed tea, fruit, lollipops, and lots of playing with each other. We had a great hostess that provided all the fun.
Photobucket
There were lots of other kiddos to play with Kyndall so we moms got to actually sit down AND drink our coffee's. Yep I said it, we got to do BOTH, at the same time, while the kids were in our care. Yeah, I know, your jealous. Ok so maybe that isn't a big deal but it is to us moms.

New Baby!!
We got to visit a new baby today! One of my friends brought home this precious baby girl last week and I had to see her. I brought some yummy lunch so mom could be occupied while I snagged the precious baby. Isn't she just beautiful!
Photobucket
She also has a new big sister that loves to show her off and tells us all what she is doing, play by play! But there is a side to big sis that is a little awnry, you can just see it in her eyes:
Photobucket
They just scream: Hmmm what can I get into next?
It was so nice to see all of them and I can't wait to get my next chance to hold the little beauty again! Best of luck to them all!

Finally, here is my latest buy for my little rockstar. Kyndall has not really struck me as a girlie girl, she has always been that adventurous, nothing will stop her, kind of girl. I saw this outfit and it just screamed her name. She is our little rockstar!

Have a great weekend everyone!!
